Emil Novak of Queen City Bookstore in Buffalo, New York was one of the retail shops that did not receive their order of White Lantern Rings and writes in to share his displeasure over the matter.
In case you haven't heard, DC's Brightest Day #1 hit the stands Wednesday, May 5. And the highly anticipated "white ring" was released simultaneously! Another big day at comics shops all around the country after the highly successful FCBD event on May 1st. The industry takes off in a big way for summer 2010. HALT THERE! It isn't that pretty...
Another big screw-up, because almost nobody received their white rings. How can this be? We retailers order tons of this comic book to coordinate with "white rings." I ordered 145 copies of these babies to get the quantity I need and guess what? Nothing! NO emergency shipments. NO answers to what's going on until late in the day! Strange moves to appease some retailers, though not all are happy. Confusion everywhere.
Then we find out some retailers are going to be comped with free goodies for the inconvenience, but get this, NOT everyone? So I have to wait one week more to get what I ordered with 145 copies of Brightest Day #1.
It seems like a breach of contact and a total mess. We deserve something for the screw-up.
