Harald Zwart will direct a planned feature film based on the hit Bakugan Battle Brawlers property, according to TheWrap.  Zwart, who directed the surprise hit Karate Kid remake released earlier this year, will direct the new film for Universal. 

Bakugan has considerable backstory on which to base a film, from an anime, a manga, videogames, and an online game. 

The toy line hit 250 Bakugan Battle Brawler balls sold this fall (see “Bakugan Hits 250 Million”).
