Diamond's new bookstore division has been busy adding all sorts of smaller and medium-sized publishers to its roster.  Prominent among the new additions is the Checker Book Publishing Group of Dayton, Ohio.  Checker, which has published a number of graphic novels collecting such comics as Alien Legion, Clive Barker's Hellraiser, and Supreme, recently signed with Midpoint Trade Books (see 'Checker Chooses Midpoint') for book distribution.  Now they've added Diamond as an additional book distributor.

Moonstone, with its roster of retro heroes that includes: The Phantom, Boston Blackie, Mr. Moto, Sherlock Holmes and Kolchak the Night Stalker, is another key addition to the Diamond Book Distributors lineup.

Like Moonstone, Eureka Productions is a publisher that gets much of its inspiration from the past -- though in the case of Eureka it's classic literary works by authors like Edgar Allan Poe, and H.G. Wells that get the graphic novel treatment in Eureka's Graphic Classics line.

Located in Glasgow, Scotland, Metaphrog is both a publishing house and the pseudonym used by John Chalmers and Sandra Marrs in their graphic works which range from adult-oriented dramas such as The Maze and Strange Weather Lately to the whimsical, all-ages Louis series.

Diamond has also been named as the exclusive U.S. distributor for Eddie Campbell Comics, although at this time Diamond will be representing just one book--the movie cover-edition of Eddie Campbell and Alan Moore's From Hell graphic novel.  Though this particular horse may have almost completely exited from the sales barn by now, it did rack up some prodigious numbers in the wake of the From Hell film.

In contrast to Eddie Campbell Comics' one current title, Diamond's signing of Aldo Ghiozzi's Impressions Advertising & Marketing provides the distributor with the works of more than 30 small and mid-sized game publishers to distribute to bookstores.
