Mike Boze of HawgHead Comics in Fort Smith, Arkansas read Steven Myers' Talk Back on DC's upcoming reboot (see "Steven Myers of World of Comics on DC's Reboot") and had this to say.
I would like to comment on Steven Myers of World of Comics post. I too have been a comic book retailer for many years. Most of my customers have been with me since I opened and a majority have been readers even longer. We have seen the loss of many readers with the "revamp" of Spider-Man and now DC wants to do a complete and total revamp at a time when sales are suffering due to the economy. How will long time readers react is not a simple task to envision but yesterday might be a window to view through. A longtime and often deeply loyal reader of the Superman titles came in yesterday and told me to drop his pull file for Superman until further notice. Here is a customer that often only reads Superman and nothing else. How long will he be a customer? And if he drops it completely will he ever return?
