Marvel’s visual game of cat and mouse with comic fandom regarding what is really going to happen in November with a title referred to only as Four took another turn today with the release of an image by Joe Quesada showing all four members of the original Fantastic Four including the Human Torch.  Quesada tweeted the image last week and tamped down speculation by indicating that it was a sort of “anniversary cover” image for which he could use “any incarnation of the FF” from the group’s 50-year history.

 

Marvel is in danger of getting too cute by half with these controlled leaks and teasers.  Sometimes, to paraphrase Sigmund Freud, “a Human Torch is just a Human Torch.”
