}Dynamite Entertainment has acquired the license to create comic books based on The Shadow from Conde Nast. Created for radio in 1930 by David Chrisman, William Sweets, and Harry Engman Charlot, The Shadow quickly expanded into the realm of pulp fiction thanks to the efforts of Walter B. Gibson.
Gibson provided the character, who was known for his ability to cloud men's minds and for his blazing twin 45s, with much of his panache. In addition to pulp magazines and the radio, where Orson Welles was perhaps the most memorable vocal incarnation of The Shadow, the property has enjoyed a rich history in comic books, comic strips, TV, and at least five movies.
