The Mandalay Pictures production of the Liquid (nee Virgin) Comics graphic novel Ramayan 3392 AD has a new writer: author Nic Kelman, according to Variety. The film has been in development for several years (see “Mandalay Opts for Ramayan 3392 AD”), but the producers are liking Kelman’s take better than the first script by John Collee.

Plans for the film stirred protests when it was announced (see “Protests Against Ramayan 3392 AD”) from Hindu groups that find the concept sacrilegious.
