Having finally settled the legal conflicts that temporarily at least paralyzed its corporate leadership (see "The Battle For Archie Is Over"), Archie Comics today announced a number of management changes including the hiring of longtime industry veteran Jim Sokolowski as Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development.
In addition a number of in-house promotions were announced. Harold Buchholz was promoted from Executive Director of Publishing and Operations to Senior Vice President of Publishing and Operations, while Paul Kaminski, who edited Archie’s licensed titles, has been named Executive Director of Editorial, and Alex Segura, who had been Archie’s Executive Director of Publicity and Marketing, will now be Vice President of Publicity and Marketing.
The hiring of Sokolowski, who will be charged with overseeing the company’s sales efforts in the direct, bookstore, digital, and newsstand markets as well as expanding the reach of the company’s iconic characters, is a definite coup for Archie. “Ski” has extensive experience with the two major comic book publishers. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Marvel Comics and as the Executive Director of Publishing Operations at DC Comics.
