The new Superman series by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee (see "Jim Lee and Scott Snyder on New 'Superman' Comic") will be titled Superman Unchained, according to USA Today.  The new series, which will be previewed on Free Comic Book Day (see "Snyder/Lee 'Superman' Preview in FCBD Offering"), will be released June 12, two days before the release of Man of Steel
The character is going to get a new look, DC co-publisher and series artist Jim Lee told USA Today.  "We’ve been pushing the creators to not be beholden to the past conceits and understandings of Superman," Lee said.  "So we will speak to a new generation of readers."
Back-up features in the book will be written by Snyder with art by Dustin Nguyen.
This is one of two major Superman launches in June; Batman/Superman, by Greg Pak and Jae Lee, also launches that month (see "'World's Finest' Redux—DC Preps "Batman/Superman").
And those two new titles are only one part of the over-all Superman publishing program tied to Man of Steel (see "DC Execs Talk 'Man of Steel' Program").
