Another Retailer Intelligence Test?

Les 'Bo' Bowman of The Gamer's Den saw our recent article on Marvel books hitting the bookstore channel before comic stores (see 'More Marvel X-Books Hit Book Channel First') and had this to say:
In the recent article, 'More Marvel X-Books Hit Book Channel First,' Marvel spokesperson Michael Doran was quoted as saying, 'Due to the intense interest in Marvel in the bookstore market due to our ever-increasing sales and this year's slate of blockbuster movies, products like the Marvel Encyclopedia Volume 2: The X-Men and The X2 Movie Adaptation TPB have found their way into the marketplace early, though these early releases were not arranged by Marvel.' So am I to believe that Marvel has no control of their own product that they produce and manufacture? It makes me wonder if this isn't another infamous Retailer Intelligence Test like those from Bill Jemas. MORE TALK BACK
