IDW Publishing has announced plans to collect the long-running 2000AD strip "Sinister Dexter" for release in 2014.

Created by writer Dan Abnett and artist David Millgate, "Sinister Dexter" originally premiered in 1995's 2000AD Winter Special.  Following the adventures of Finnigan "Finny" Sinister and Ramone "Ray" Dexter, "Sinister Dexter" had its first ongoing, regular feature in the weekly 2000AD progs in 1996 and 1997.  These first two runs were originally collected by 2000AD in 2004's Sinister Dexter trade.  Since 1995, the characters have appeared in various 2000AD issues.

Although details about the IDW collection are sparse, the publisher did reveal that the book would chronicle Abnett and artist Andy Clarke's run.  Clarke first joined Abnett on "Sinister Dexter" in 1998's "To the Devil a Detour," a two-part strip that ran in progs 1088 and 1089, as well as a standalone entitled "Bullfighting Days."  While Clarke would continue on sporadic "Sinister Dexter" stories with Abnett, the majority of his 2000AD work occurred beyond the strip until 2000 when the two embarked on the long-running, multipart "Sinister Dexter" series "Mission to Mangapore."  Since then, the creators have collaborated on numerous "Sinister Dexter" runs.  Which of these IDW will collect first remains unknown.

Over the past year, IDW Publishing has brought Judge Dredd and various 2000AD properties to American audiences since acquiring the Dredd license in July 2012.  Recently, IDW unveiled plans for a joint Dredd and Mars Attacks project (see "IDW at C2E2: 'Mars Attacks Judge Dredd'").
