Oni Press has announced a new, double-sized Adventure Time one-shot by Eisner Award-winning creator Caroline Cash. Adventure Time: The Bubbline College Special #1 is a 56-page, alternate universe story about Princess Bubblegum and the vampire Marceline in their first year of college, dealing with the usual freshman hassles while also falling for one another.  The comic will be released on August 20, 2025, with covers by Cash, Robyn Smith, and Chloé Stawski.

“I've been a fan of the show since it came out,” Cash said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I remember watching it when it premiered on Cartoon Network.  I think I was 14 years old?  It completely shaped my comics making career as well, the first comics I read (outside of manga and newspaper comics) were by people who worked on Adventure Time.”

Oni Press launched a new Adventure Time series in April 2025 (see “Oni to Launch New ‘Adventure Time’ Ongoing Series”) after re-publishing the Adventure Time comics from BOOM! Studios. Cash is the creator of PeePee PooPoo, published by Silver Sprocket, which won the 2024 Eisner Award for Best Limited Series; the newest issue, PeePee PooPoo #1 (see “Silver Sprocket to Release ‘PeePee PooPoo’ #1”) has been nominated for the 2025 Eisner for Best Single Issue/One-Shot (see “2025 Eisner Nominees Announced”).
