The new international trailer for director Noam Murro’s 300: Rise of an Empire depicts the Persian ruler Xerxes declaring his intention to wipe out those pesky Greek city states, stating "Nothing will stop the march of my empire." Then the focus shifts to Game of Throne’s star Lena Headey as Queen Gorgo of Sparta and her Persian counterpart Aremisia, the lone female captain in the Persian naval forces.
This sequel to 300 shifts the focus of battle from the narrow mountain pass of Thermopylae to the wide open oceans for a series of historic naval battles. Will this seaborne conflict be as compelling as the battles in 300? The answer will come when the film opens on March 7, 2014 (see "Geek Movie Date Shuffle").
