Archaia Entertainment, an imprint of Boom Studios, has announced the November publication of An Aurora Grimeon Story: Will o’ the Wisp, a full color, 208-page hardcover graphic novel by first time graphic novel writer Thomas Hammock and artist Megan Hutchison. The fantasy-themed graphic novel tells the story of a young girl who is sent to live with her estranged grandfather who lives on Ossuary Isle deep in the swamps and bayous of Louisiana. Once there she is introduced to and begins practicing Hoodoo, a form of magic that deals heavily with the supernatural.
From her new home on a cemetery island Aurora has to deal with a number of challenges that normal kids don’t--and it is an extraordinary world that is rendered in great detail in the graphic novel. Hammock, who is a production designer in the film industry, and Hutchison did extensive research into the physical setting of the story as well as into Hoodoo beliefs and practices.
