A 'Sarcastic Thank You'

Rich Biedrzycki of Dreamland in Schaumburg, Illinois was unhappy that Shonen Jump carried heavily discounted subscription offers:
I just wanted to give a big sarcastic 'Thank You' to the people at Viz, who after asking retailers to get behind the launch of Shonen Jump Magazine as this would be a book that brought new readers into the market, turned around and pretty much stabbed those same retailers in the back by inserting and binding in 50% off subscription coupons into all the issues after #3. They are offering consumers the book at the same discount they are selling it to me wholesale for! Gee I wonder why it stopped selling in my store? I can understand inserting subscription forms into newsstand copies but there is no way these coupons should have been inserted into the Direct Market copies. MORE TALK BACK
