Children’s shoe brand Stride Rite is a sponsor of Halloween ComicFest 2013, Stride Rite and Diamond Comic Distributors, which organizes the event, announced today. The sponsorship will include ads in eleven free ComicFest mini-comics for Stride Rite’s "Trick or Feet" campaign, which encourages kids to wear light-up Stride Rite shoes for safety while out on Halloween. Stride Rite makes light up sneakers with characters from Star Wars, Marvel, Disney Princess, Disney Baby, Sesame Street, and more.
"Stride Rite is excited to be a part of introducing new fans to not only comics but also to Stride Rite through their local comic book store," Stride Rite Brand Communications Manager Melina Freitas said.
The second annual Halloween ComicFest is a comic store-based event planned for October 25th and 26th, the weekend before Halloween (see "Halloween ComicFest Titles Announced"). The event will include free Halloween-themed mini- and full length comics, store-sponsored special events, and "The Greatest Halloween Costume Contest Ever." The association of major consumer brands with comic store events is a great partnership, bringing increased attention and value to the events, as well as associating the consumer brand with the cutting edge of pop culture.
