New York Comic Con News:  At the New York Comic Con IDW Publishing announced the upcoming publication of a Peanuts Artist Edition, a deluxe hardcover presenting Charles Schulz’s Peanuts art work in its original size in as close a manner as possible to the way the artwork looked when it was originally created.  IDW’s Peanuts Artist Edition will be the first book of this type devoted to comic strip art rather than comic book art.
 
Artist's Editions are printed the same size as the original art.  While appearing to be in black & white, each page has actually been scanned in color to mimic as closely as possible the experience of viewing the actual original art-for example, you are able to clearly see paste-overs, blue pencils in the art, editorial notes, art corrections.  Each page is printed the same size as drawn, and the paper selected is as close as possible to the original art board.
 
Charles Schulz’s Peanuts is one of the most acclaimed comic strips of the Twentieth Century.  Schulz’s simple drawing style highlighted the psychological insights he derived from a stable of character archetypes that wormed their way into nearly every nook and cranny of pop culture during the baby boomer era.  The expansive horizontal format of IDW’s Peanuts Artist Edition presents Schulz’s original art in much the same way that it was seen by his original syndicate editors.
