Dick Ayers, who inked some of Jack Kirby’s earliest work for Marvel, has passed away at 90, according to a Facebook post by Vanguard publisher David Spurlock. Ayers was best known as Kirby’s inker in the late 50s and 60s, including The Fantastic Four. He also drew Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos for a ten year run, and co-created the first, western version of Ghost Rider. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2007.
