The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund has partnered with Heritage Auctions to auction original art benefitting the Fund. The inaugural lot consists of five pieces now up for bidding on the Heritage website, and includes works by Jim Lee, Charlie Adlard, and Paul Pope, along with a letterpress broadsheet by Neil Gaiman.
The five pieces donated to the auction include Jim Lee’s The Sandman: Overture #1 alternate cover original art, which is also signed by Neil Gaiman; Charlie Adlard’s The Walking Dead #105 page 15 original art; Paul Pope’s Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman: The Tale of Zatoichi Continues DVD cover original art; Paul Pope’s CBLDF Presents: Liberty HC collection cover original art; and Neil Gaiman and George Walker’s A Writer’s Prayer signed, limited edition letterpress broadsheet.
The auctions end soon.
"It’s an honor for us to be a part of Heritage’s community! CBLDF is able to protect the freedom to read comics because of the support of individuals, organizations, and creators who believe in our important mission," said CBLDF Executive Director Charles Brownstein. "We’re very grateful to Heritage, and extend our sincere thanks to Jim Lee, Neil Gaiman, Charlie Adlard, and Paul Pope for their generosity in contributing the pieces that form the first in what we hope is a long and fruitful auction partnership."
