Caliber Comics will release the graphic novel Talismen: Return of the Exile in July, as one if the first releases since announcing its relaunch in February (see "Caliber Comics Returns").
 
Talismen, written by Steve Jones (Steven Phillip Jones) and illustrated by Barb Jacobs, was originally a webcomic, but is no longer available online.  The full-color graphic novel release will cover the storyline and bring it to conclusion, which was never done online.  The webcomic was nominated for Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards for Outstanding Dramatic Comic in 2007.  MSRP will be $16.99
 
The story follows Marine Corporal Ollie, who is about to be executed by terrorists when he is suddenly transported to the Plane of Imaginings, where dreams and nightmares originate.  Ollie is told he has been there before, and is destined to save the dream village from the neighboring nightmares. 
 
The graphic novel will also tie into a young adult prose novel: Talismen: The Knightmare Knife, which explores the backstory of Ollie’s first time on the Plane.  While complementary, both titles are stand-alone stories.
