In Number One writer Gary Scott Beatty and artist Aaron Warner take the reader through fifty years of comic book history by following the career of a single retailer, who perseveres through decades as the comic market does its patented roller-coaster imitation, driven by his love for the medium of comics. The 32-page one-shot full color Number One comic has a cover price of $3.99 and can be ordered in July’s Previews from Aazurn Publishing.
Beatty explains that Number One examines the kind of experiences and commitment that led his protagonist (Steve) to take up the mantle of comic shop retailer: "Comics helped Steve through some tough times growing up and he turned his love of the medium into a comic shop business. In Number One we see whether operating the business is worth the toll it takes on his family."
