Marvel Comics is getting serious about trying to maximize the print merchandising potential of the hit films produced by Marvel Studios.  In addition to releasing the usual comic book collections,  Marvel is now commissioning prose novels featuring the characters who will be appearing in the film.  In September, Marvel announced Avengers: Everybody Wants to Rule the World, a prose novel by Dan Abnett, which will be released in April just before Joss Whedon’s Avengers: The Age of Ultron debuts (see "'Avengers' Prose Novel"), and today Marvel revealed Ant-Man: Natural Enemy, a novel by crime writer Jason Starr, which will be released in June, just weeks ahead of the July 17th debut of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man movie.

Ant-Man: Natural Enemy features Scott Lang, who will be played in the Ant-Man film by Paul Rudd.  As ex-con Lang and his teenage daughter settle in a new city, a dangerous criminal from Lang’s past turns up.  Is he out for revenge or does he want to acquire the Ant-Man technology?
