Recent rumors that Future Comics would be publishing a new Micronauts comic book series with art by Pat Broderick have proved to be erroneous.  Pat Broderick has announced on a message board at Comicon.com that he will indeed be working on a new Micronauts series, but it will not be coming from Future Comics.  According to Broderick, in addition to licensing and financial issues cited by a Future Comics spokesman in a statement indicating that Future had passed on the Micronauts property, he had conflicts with Future's Bob Layton over the nature of the new story lines.  Broderick was doing the plotting for the series, but says his plots ran afoul of what he termed Layton's 'real science rule.'

When the Micronauts left Devil's Due amid hints that a former Micronauts artist would be taking over the series, attention turned to Pat Broderick, who was working at Future Comics.  Evidently Broderick will indeed be taking over the series.  But he has left Future Comics, and will produce a new Micronauts series for another publisher.  Stay tuned for further developments.
