With the ubiquity of its characters at some fraction less than total, Nickelodeon Enterprises has decided to enter the hotel business by partnering with Holiday Inn on Nickelodeon Family Suites. The first hotel will open in early 2005, a converted 800-room Holiday Inn Suites in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, adjacent to central Florida's major theme parks. Nick elements at the hotel will include Nick-decorated bedrooms for the kids, wake-up calls from Nick stars, daily character breakfasts, and live entertainment featuring Nick characters. Nickelodeon Enterprises is the licensing, online, magazine, and recreation arm of the company; it was responsible for $2.6 billion in retail sales last year.
