John Ledford, the CEO and founder of ADV, has announced the appointment of Gary Steinman as Editor-in-Chief of Newtype USA.  Steinman formerly edited Ziff Davis' Official U.S. Playstation Magazine, where he worked closely with Sony, the manufacturer of the Playstation game platform, and third-party game publishers to provide content for the Sony-produced demo disk which shipped with the magazine.  Every issue of Newtype USA contains a DVD featuring an episode from a new anime release.

Newtype USA, which just shipped its twelfth issue and has quadrupled its circulation during its first year (see 'Newtype USA Quadruples in Year One'), is an indispensable source of information for anyone interested in anime.  The latest issue provides plot information on 43 anime series currently running on Japanese TV, as well as TV ratings and sales information on the Japanese market.  With the time between when an anime series or feature debuts in Japan and when it arrives in the U.S. continually shrinking, Newtype USA is becoming more and more indispensable.
