Reed Exhibitions has announced that Gen Con will be an official show sponsor of the inaugural New York Comic-Con, which will take place from February 24th to 26th in New York City.   Led by former Wizards of the Coast CEO Peter Adkison, Gen Con organizes two key conventions for devotees of all types of fantasy and war gaming, one in the fall in Los Angeles and one in the summer in Indianapolis.  Gen Con will not only be a co-sponsor of the New York convention, they will be the exclusive sponsor of the Gaming Hall, and they will also be producing all of New York Comic-Con's gaming tournaments and events.

 

The New York Comic-Con will be a full-fledged pop culture show with coverage of comic books, games, anime, manga and other related industries.  Greg Topalian, Group Vice President in charge of Launch Pad for Reed Exhibitions, was extremely pleased by Gen Con's participation, noting: 'Gen Con runs terrific shows and their expertise in the gaming sector is without comparison.  They are providing us with a great stamp of approval by participating in our event and, more importantly, they will a wealth of knowledge to our gaming tournaments and events.'
