According to the Spider-Girl message boards Marvel has closed the iron door on 'Mayday' Parker once again and will cancel the series with issue #100 (Spider-Girl #95 will be in stores on Wednesday February 1). Fans of the series have started another campaign to save Spider-Girl, which has been rescued from the scrap heap on several previous occasions including 2001 (see 'IQ Test for Retailers') and 2002 ('Low-End Marvels Get Price Boost'). Former Marvel EIC Tom DeFalco has written almost the entire run of Spider-Girl, which began in 1998 as part of an ill-fated wave of comics featuring the second generation of Marvel heroes (the progeny of Gen 1) known as MC2. At least this time Spider-Girl fans will have six months to drum up enough sales and support to keep the title going past issue #100.
