ICv2 has already covered most of the major product releases announced by Wizards of the Coast at the New York International Toy Fair, but we did learn some new details about WotC's 2006 lineup as well as information about new products from WotC's sister companies, Avalon Hill and Milton Bradley. Pop culture retailers may interested to learn that the 60-piece, booster-only Champions of the Force Expansion for Wizards' Star Wars CMG (see 'Two Star Wars Mini Releases Next Summer'), will, for the first time in history of the game, include Star Wars characters that did not appear in any of the movies. Characters from the Star Wars novels and from Dark Horse's Star Wars comic books and graphic novels, such as Han Solo's daughter Jaina Solo, are included.
Milton Bradley has announced The Ice Castle (MSRP $29.99), a major expansion for its fantasy board game Heroscape (see 'New Boardgame Includes Miniatures'). The 100-piece Ice Castle is due out in the summer along with smaller, terrain-enhancing expansions such as a Bridge (MSRP $19.99).
Avalon Hill's Contested Skies Expansion for its Axis & Allies CMG (see 'Axis and Allies Contested Skies') is due out in April. The first Axis & Allies CMG component to include airplanes contains some real beauties including the American P-51 Mustang, the Japanese Zero, the German ME-109, the British Spitfire and many more classic fighters and bombers from World War II. Players can take the role of any of the war's major participants (the U.S., Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, etc.) and re-fight any of the classic air battles of WW II.
