Funrise has secured a license to produce Marvel POGs and the first series of 60 different circular disks adorned with full color images of Marvel superheroes will be available on April 15th.  Funrise is releasing the Marvel POGs in two formats, a Marvel Classic Game (MSRP $10.00), which includes 22 POGs, 2 slammers, a game pad, dice (to determine who goes first), and a score pad, and in Marvel POG Foil Packs (MSRP $2.50), which contain 5 POGs and one slammer and come packaged in a 36-pack point-of-purchase display box.  Additional products are planned for Marvel line including six different Marvel Metal Slammers (MSRP $4.99 each), but these will not be available in April.

The first series of Marvel POGs features an assortment of classic Marvel characters including Spider-Man, The Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men.  Foil packs include everything a kid needs to play the game, though the Marvel Classic Game contains some very useful accessories.

Funrise is currently adding distributors for its Marvel POGs game, which should soon be widely available in both the comic book and hobby game markets.
