In an arrangement facilitated by the William Morris Agency, Devil's Due Publishing has acquired the rights to publish a comic book featuring Sheena Queen of the Jungle.  Hollywood heavyweights Paul Aratow (producer of the lightly regarded 1984 Sheena movie) and Steven E. de Souza (Die Hard, The Flintstones) will provide the creative direction for the new series, which Robert Rodi (Wonder Woman, Elektra) will write.  Steven Cummings (Elektra, New Excalibur) will provide the interior art with Tim Seeley doing the covers.

Devil's Due will unveil the new Sheena comic with a 99-cent, 24-page, full color Sheena Preview Special in March.  A limited Sheena series is slated for a June debut.

Comic book pioneers Will Eisner and Jerry Iger created Sheena, Queen of the Jungle in 1937, and the golden-haired jungle girl was the first female heroine to get her own comic book series, well before the debut of Wonder Woman in All Star Comics #8 in December of 1941.  Marvel published a Sheena Special (with a cover by Gray Morrow) in conjunction with the release of the 1984 movie, which starred Tanya Roberts and was produced by Paul Aratow, who is currently involved in the production of film based on Will Eisner's The Spirit.
