4Kids Entertainment and its subsidiary TC Digital Games have announced that the Chaotic Trading Card Game Dawn of Perim Starter Decks and Booster Packs will be released to 750 mall-based F.Y.E. and Suncoast Video stores on this coming Saturday, December 15th. The Chaotic TCG, which is supported by a cartoon broadcast on the 4Kids Saturday morning block on the Fox TV network, was launched in the hobby in October (see 'Chaotic TCG Streets October 24th') and 4Kids plans on bringing it to 'leading retailers' in the mass market during the first quarter of 2008.
To support the launch of the game 4Kids and F.Y.E. have created an integrated marketing campaign that includes in-store signage and entertainment displays, e-blasts to F.Y.E. loyalty members, and online content at fye.com, ChaoticGame.com and 4kids.com. In addition F.Y.E. will host Chaotic TCG demonstrations and 'open battle' events at stores around the country starting in January.
Meanwhile the Chaotic TCG Website is adding new features including three-on-three game play functionality and a trading site where players can trade their cards online. In five weeks of beta testing over 600,000 online cards have been registered and over 110,000 online challenges have been made.
4Kids has also signed up a number of new licensees for the Chaotic TCG including Giant Merchandising (t-shirts, sweatshirts, track jackets), BioWorld (head gear), Prima Games (strategy guides), and American Greetings (cards and sundries).
