Sandstorm Productions displayed three new games at last week’s Gen Con:  The Target, Globalization, and Hecho.  All three games were designed by Brian and Brent Knudson, and will release over the next two months.

The Target is a card game of deduction set in the Cold War era.  Up to ten players are secretly members of the CIA or the KGB (or possibly double agents) trying to gather valuable “intel” and delivering it to headquarters.  Designer Brian Knudson says, “It’s like Apples to Apples meets Bang!” Players must try to determine the identities of their opponents, a task made more difficult since all cards are played in secret.

The Target will release in late October, and has a suggested retail price of $29.95.  It will be released under the Closet Nerd logo, Sandstorm’s strategy game studio.

Globalization is a strategy board game of corporate domination.  Players begin with a small company and must expand their operations to become the first corporation worth one billion dollars.  The game is intended to be somewhat humorous, including pun-based corporate names such as the oil and natural gas company “Southern Withdrawl.”

Globalization will release in late September with a suggested retail of $39.95.  It will also be a Closet Nerd game.

Hecho is a children’s and family game about constructing buildings in Spain.  The game title translates as “Made,” and the game is designed to teach Spanish vocabulary during play.  All players play the game simultaneously, without turns.

Hecho will release in late September at a MSRP of $14.95, from Glowfly Games, Sandstorm’s family game studio.
