One of the most eagerly awaited releases of Gen Con 2011, at least by those whose tastes run to the steampunk, the Gothic, or the stitchpunk, is
Puppet Wars, the newest game from Wyrd Miniatures. It will combine elements of Wyrd's first game
Malifaux and some wonderfully bizarre puppet figures that look like miniature hand-stitched voodoo dolls. The game will be played on a board with distinct spaces and with 2-4 players, but full details aren't likely to be revealed much before GenCon.
Wyrd Miniatures has already released a deck of plastic cards (MSRP $11.50) for
Puppet Wars, and ICv2 has uploaded an "unboxing" video so that potential players can get a good look at the designs on the card. Please note that there are notes accompanying the video that indicate a mistake in the narration--the cards do contain indicator marks that will make them useful, if not indispensable for the
Puppet Wars game.
