Twilight Creations, most famous for the Zombies!!! line of board games, offers another twist on the genre with a new game called Little Dead Riding Hood.  Todd Breitenstein of Twilight Creations was on hand at Gen Con to give ICv2 a look at the game.

Little Dead Riding Hood is a stand-alone racing game designed by Kerry Breitenstein.  It combines the classic “Little Red Riding Hood” fairy tale with zombie themes. “She’s killed enough wolves that they’re angry and coming back for her,” Breitenstein explained.

The game system features elements of other popular games.  Breitenstein described a core feature: “It has kind of a role-choosing mechanic a la Puerto Rico.  We call them ‘helpers.’  Each player picks their helper for the turn, and that allows you to add path pieces to get to Grandma’s House, and place obstacles in other peoples’ way.  And most importantly, place zombie wolves in other peoples’ paths.”

Little Dead Riding Hood will be released in mid-September with a suggested retail price of $35.  Designed for two to five players, it plays in about one hour.
