This November Games Workshop will launch the third in a series of tabletop strategy games based on New Line Cinema's epic adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy.  The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King tabletop war game will be out in time to take advantage of the highly anticipated debut of the final installment of the cinema trilogy in December.  Games Workshop's The Return of the King game features a host of new gaming scenarios and highly detailed miniatures.  The new game will add 30 new products and over 100 new models into the range from Games Workshop for the LOTR strategy battle game system.  Players can collect and paint the figurines (crafted to look just like the actors from the films) and use them to recreate their favorite battle scenes from the films.

The first Games Workshop LOTR tabletop strategy game was a Diamond/Alliance exclusive (see 'Alliance/Diamond Have LOTR Exclusive'), but The Return of the King will be available to all game distributors.  While mass-market distribution won't be widespread, expect to see The Return of the King in the major book chains that carry gaming products.
