Asmodee has announced plans to release Spyrium, a new board game by French game designer William Attia (Caylus) in the third quarter, with a special preview release at Gen Con in August.
 
Spyrium is set in an alternate, steampunk England, where players build factories to produce the substance known as Spyrium.  Then the Spyrium is moved to a processing factory, where the resulting product produces victory points.  The alternate strategy in the game is to buy the finished product, but Spyrium is rare and expensive, and money is always tight.  Players must manage their regular income or their base of permanently employed factory workers to procure the most Syprium and win the game.
 
The box contains a game board, 7 Event cards, 7 Technique cards, 17 Character cards, 35 Building cards, 1 First player card, 35 workers (7 of each color), 20 discs (4 of each color), around 50 Spyrium crystals, 24 tokens, 36 coins (£1 and £5) 10 Bonus tokens (2 of each color), and a rulebook.  The game is for 2-5 players, ages 13 and up, and the game plays in about 60 minutes.  MSRP is $ 34.99.
