It was a D&D day on Monday (see “New ‘D&D’ Dates, Info, and Pics”), and this news made it complete:  Konami Gaming is launching new Dungeons & Dragons slot machines.  They’ll be available in two themes, Conquests & Treasures and Enchanted Riches, and placed in pods of two to four games.  The pods will be merchandised with brand elements, including logo chairs, themed bezel with glowing runes, faux stone design elements, hand painted 3D dragon toppers, and sign packages, including one with a large rotating red dragon.

The games were designed in conjunction with Wizards of the Coast, according to Konami Gaming VP-Marketing Matt Reback.  “We built our Dungeons & Dragons games in close collaboration with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast in order to deliver an entertaining fantasy-themed game based on the classic adventure game, D&D,” he said.

The news is both a sign of the popularity of the D&D brand (enabling its licensing for a use that's not immediately obvious) and of what looks like its coming ubiquity, as WotC launches the new version of the tabletop RPG and, apparently, expands licensing.
