Party game manufacturer North Star Games will release its first light strategy board game, Evolution, in Q4.

Players craft and evolve their own species in a dynamic ecosystem. There are limited resources available, and predators constantly on the prowl, so players must consider this as they adapt their animals’ body size and population with new traits to ensure their survival.  Hard Shell and Horns can protect from Carnivores, but a Long Neck will help a species reach food others can’t.  Player actions involve feeding their species at the watering hole, evolving their species, and attacking other players’ creatures with carnivores.

The game comes with player boards, food tokens, a watering hole, trait cards, food bags, a start player marker, wooden markers, player aids, and instructions. The game is for 2- 6 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. MSRP is $55.00.

The game was funded on Kickstarter and raised $124,316 from 2,470 backers ($50.33/backer average).  Backer fulfillment is planned for October, with trade release to follow.
