Alderac Entertainment Group will release the new pirate-themed tile placement game Dark Seas in March.
Designed by Anthony Rubbo, the game casts players in the role of pirates out to build their own empire in the uncharted Plunder Islands of the Caribbean. Players build their islands, filling their ports with docks, hideouts and more. Players roll a set of custom dice and sail their ships around their islands, recruiting pirates, gathering doubloons and acquiring treasure and infamy. The goal is to build the greatest reputation among fellow buccaneers.
The box contains 102 tiles, tokens (pirate, captain and ship), 6 custom dice, and a rulebook. The game is for 2-4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. MSRP is $39.99.
