The Seattle-based game publisher, Green Ronin, has announced an agreement with Lynn Abbey to license the fantasy shared-world series Thieves' World for role-playing games.  Green Ronin plans on publishing the first in a series of Thieves' World RPG volumes in the summer of 2005.  Green Ronin's Thieves' World releases will be the definitive game guides to the world and characters of Thieves' World, and will feature material from both the original and current series.

First conceived by Robert Asprin and Lynn Abbey in 1978, the Thieves' World anthologies documented the city of Sanctuary, one of the grungiest and most fascinating creations in fantasy literature.  Lynn Abbey recalls describing the concept of Thieves' World as 'Dungeons & Dragons for people who write.'  Now it appears that Green Ronin, which already scored an RPG hit with its own wide-open fantasy metropolis in Freeport: The City of Adventure, will provide gamers with the means necessary for adventure gaming in one of fantasy literature's most enduring D&D-inspired worlds.
