The Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) announced today that Mark MacKinnon has been named Treasurer of the Association. The post has been vacant for several weeks following the resignation of Ryan Dancey (see 'GAMA Governance Crisis'), who resigned after revealing that he had penetrated GAMA Board of Directors email server prior to his election and had gained access to numerous confidential communications.
Mark MacKinnon, who founded the Ontario-based Guardians of Order in 1996, was elected to the GAMA Board of Directors as a director-at-large at the Annual Membership Meeting held this past June. MacKinnon's acceptance of the Treasurer position leaves his seat on the board vacant. The GAMA board is expected to announce a replacement soon.
