Sabertooth Games has announced an agreement with SNK Playmore Corporation to create the Samurai Shodown V and King of Fighters 2006 Collectible Card Game, which will be part of Sabertooth Games' Universal Fighting System.  The initial release, which will have both Starters and Boosters, will bring 16 new characters as well as their classic signature attacks and fighting styles to the UFS.  Sabertooth's UFS (see 'Universal Fighting System') can support a number of characters from different genres and games in one-on-one combat.  Thus the slugging studs from Samurai ShodownV and King of Fighters 2006 will be able to compete against other UFS characters from other fighting video games such as Soul Caliber III and Street Fighter.

Reports from hobby sources concerning the initial Sabertooth UFS release indicate that, in spite of the depressed CCG market, the cross-over CCG game of fisticuffs and weapons featuring characters from a wide variety of genres and intellectual properties is doing very well.
