Eagle had attempted to form an alliance with fellow board game manufacturer, Uberplay, but that proposed merger unraveled late last year (see 'Uberplay, Eagle Divorce Final').
After acquiring the inventory of Eagle Games at the foreclosure sale, Funagain announced that it would lower the MSRPs on a number of Eagle releases and make the entire inventory available to retailers at wholesale prices.
Funagain's acquisition of Eagle Game's inventory will ensure that current Eagle Games products will continue to be available as long as supplies last, and Funagain's Marketing Director, Nick Medinger, even held out the 'possibility of future Eagle titles.' Medinger told ICv2 that Funagain had acquired Eagle's physical inventory, but not the manufacturer's contracts and licensing agreements, but Medinger also said, 'We really like these games and there is a possibility that in future, either alone or in conjunction with a third party, we would endeavor to make sure that games like Railroad Tycoon are available.'
Funagain has lowered the MSRPs on a number of Eagle Games titles. The new prices, which are effective immediately, are:
Bootleggers $31.95
Blood Feud in
Conquest of the Empire $47.95
Wench $9.95
Puerto Rico PC Game $14.95
Kosteniuks Chess $14.95
Age of Mythology $35.95
Attack and Attack Expansion $19.95
Funagain plans to make the entire Eagle inventory available to retailers at discounts comparable to those originally provided by Eagle.
