Matthew Simmons Marketing has released the numbers from its 2006 National Games Week event, held November 19-25.  According to the announcement, 7,483 gaming events were held to celebrate National Games Week, including 1,000 at NGW's official kick-off convention, GenCon SoCal. 

An estimated 133,485 people attended those events to play socially interactive games, the goal of the event. 

According to MSM, 7,165 'members' organized those events, up from 4,495 members last year.  Retailers were 17% of that total.
