We’d heard that kids books, presumably including kids graphic novels, were a hot product category in the coronavirus era. It was our observation that the books for younger kids, including graphic novels, were in shorter supply than middle-grade titles, so the parents of younger kids must be more desperate. Overall, we saw many fewer empty slots in the graphic novel area than we did in the games area on the same day (see “Channel Check: Target (Graphic Novels) During the Pandemic Lockdown”).
