Hasbro registered to sell up to $220 million worth of stock on behalf of Lucasfilm Ltd. and Lucas Licensing Ltd. on Monday. Although Hasbro filed the registration, the proceeds would go to the Lucas companies. The stock that would be sold came into the Lucas companies' hands as a result of deals in 1997 and 1998, and were connected to Hasbro's licensing of the Star Wars property. Hasbro recently renegotiated and extended its Star Wars license in a deal that reduced its guarantees and extended the period of the license (see 'Hasbro Renegotiates, Extends Star Wars License').
