While some toy companies are still saying that SARS will not slow shipments this year (see 'Will SARS Sap Seasonal Sales'), we've heard of one factory with up to 20% absenteeism due either to illness, fear of illness, or other SARS-related reasons.  This absenteeism is slowing production and stretching lead times.  While this may be a very localized problem, it could also be a sign of a larger trend.  It bears watching.
