David Twohy, the writer/director of Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, has announced that he will write a two-hour movie for the Sci-Fi Channel. The TV movie will follow the adventures of Kyra, introduced in Pitch Black as a colt-like young teen. In her current incarnation in The Chronicles of Riddick, Kyra has become a gorgeous, but ferocious fighter. According to Twohy, the movie he is writing, if successful in the ratings, will serve as a pilot for an eventual series entitled Kyra the Lost Years, which will chronicle the character's transformation from the trembling teen of Pitch Black to the warrior woman of The Chronicles of Riddick.
