Daniel Craig is in negotiations to take over the starring role in Cowboys and Aliens vacated by Robert Downey, Jr. this week (see “Not So Fast, Pardner”). Craig has reportedly been offered the part, but has not yet accepted.
The film has top writers and Iron Man director Jon Favreau (see “A-Team on Cowboys and Aliens”). Dreamworks still hopes to begin production this year.
