Archaia and The Jim Henson Company have announced the summer 2011 publication of A Tale of Sand, a hardcover graphic novel based on an un-produced screenplay by Jim Henson and his longtime collaborator Jerry Juhl.  Jim Henson Company CEO Lisa Henson will supervise the production process, which will be guided by Archaia EIC Stephen Christy.

A Tale of Sand is a dark existential feature-length screenplay that Henson created early in his career.  It differs wildly from The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth or his work with The Muppets. The protagonist of A Tale of Sand is a young man who is kicked out of a dusty town in the middle of an expansive desert with only a rucksack full of odds-and-ends to his name.
